I seek a more varied and less predictable way of engaging with other creative people in the area. I want to see, share and discuss work in progress - not just visit the end results in an exhibition.

In 2003 I established the email group newcastleGRAFT for creative practitioners in the NE of England (though membership now extends beyond the region). Between 2003 and early 2007, I organized events in support of members practice including:

• a weekend long event with artists from London with a shared interest in Complexity Theory
• a weekend networking visit to Allenheads Contemporary Arts in Northumberland
• applications and proposals workshop
• peer review sessions for new work

In 2007 I established ESAB, mainly an email based network (though some informal ‘meets’ have taken place) for English Speaking Artists in Berlin; I also have set up and am compiling an ESAB blog of galleries in Berlin.
