Waygood Gallery & Studios Berlin Residency:

An ongoing new body of work exploring the changing practices of meat preparation within the domestic kitchen: I am learning how to pluck / skin / gut and prepare whole game products and documenting that process through video, drawings and text. My research includes old cookery books found in second hand shops and discussions with people familiar with these practices - whether by profession, age or cultural background. In 2007 I have accompanied game hunters working in Northumberland and Berlin. For more information about this developing work, visit my Berlin residency blog, link below.

“I was a committed vegetarian for 15 years, this work is a head on confrontation with my choice to once again eat meat - to bring consciousness to that decision - I have yet to see where the process will lead me.” (Quote from the Berlin blog)

The residency was project managed by Waygood Gallery and Studios; and supported by Arts Council England NE and Das Stadthaus Museum, Lichtenberg, Berlin.
